At the 55th National Congress of the Italian Society of Hygiene (SItI), which was held in Padua from September 28 to October 1, there was a meeting dedicated to all "non-Covid_19" vaccinations, including the one against flu, which catalyzed the attention from the Media.
From the history of vaccination told by Prof. Paolo Castiglia (Member of the Vaccine Board of SItI and Prof. of Hygiene at the University of Sassari) we moved on to talk about HPV vaccination in adult women instead with Prof. Giancarlo Icardi (Member of the Working Group "Vaccines and Vaccination Policies" SItI and Prof. Ord. of Hygiene at the University of Genoa).
Prof. Giovanni Gabutti (Coordinator of the Vaccines Working Group), on the other hand, emphasized pneumococcal vaccination.
An appeal, finally, on the right of the elderly and frail on the Hepes Zoster vaccination came from Dr. Michele Coversano, Past President of the Italian Hygiene Society and Director of the Prevention Dept. of the Taranto ASL.
