OTB Foundation to support women victims of acid violence in India

Violence against women in some countries around the world reaches particularly frightening levels, as in the case of India where acid attacks affect women from all social classes, castes, beliefs and religions. Sulfuric acid is a weapon, does not require direct physical contact by the aggressor, it is corrosive, penetrates to the bones damaging muscles and causes serious functional damage; the absurd thing is that you can buy without prescriptions, in total peace at a very low price.

OTB FOUNDATION, which has always been fighting to support those in difficulty, decided to support the philanthropic organization HOTHUR FOUNDATION of Kulsum Shadab Wahab by financially funding the project VICTORY OVER VIOLENCE which consists in the social reintegration of Indian women survivors of acid attacks, not only by funding their surgeries, but also by providing psychological support and supporting the work training of victims and extends to the children of survivors, if any, who need help for education.

"Our goal is not only to bring back to normal the lives of the victims of acid attacks, but also to make them stronger than before and to recognize that they are not victims but survivors" says Arianna Alessi Vice President of OTB Foundation "of the 100 thousand euros we allocate, 80 are intended for women who have suffered violence, will serve to support the necessary activities such as surgical and psychological medicine interventions. The remaining 20 thousand euros will be directed to families, especially children".
