On occasion of the World Shark Day, July 14, Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium has decided to tell a story about this animal thanks to his membership in the European Studbook Foundation (ESF), a non-profit organization based in the Netherlands, who is engaged in the promotion and maintenance of herd books, studbooks, of animals at risk of extinction in order to preserve their species.
Thanks to this collaboration, Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium has welcomed in the ocean tank a young male Stegostoma tigrinum, commonly known as zebra shark, an endangered species that the European programme is committed to safeguarding.
The name of the young male will be chosen by the Aquarian Guests thanks to a social survey and a dedicated form to be filled in on site. The name will be officially chosen and registered on Sunday, July 14, on the occasion of the Shark Awareness Day - the World Day dedicated to sharks.
